Psalm Introduction

The Book of Psalms is a collection of 150 poetic songs, prayers, and hymns that express a wide range of human emotions, from joy and thanksgiving to lament and supplication. Attributed to various authors—mainly King David but also including Asaph, the sons of Korah, and others—it reflects Israel’s worship, personal devotion, and reliance on God. Psalms are often divided into five sections, mirroring the Torah, and they highlight God’s sovereignty, mercy, and faithfulness. This book remains central in both Jewish and Christian worship, offering wisdom, comfort, and encouragement for all generations.

Psalm 1
The psalm contrasts the righteous with the wicked. The righteous person delights in God's law, while the wicked will perish. It emphasizes the blessings of following God’s ways.

Psalm 2
